Overview
The Hive Adventure is an adventure-based worldschooling hub located in Cabrera, Dominican Republic, founded by Kate. Ages & Format
The Hive serves families with children across a broad age range. The 6-Week Changemaker Adventure is structured with daily activities running 9 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Friday. Younger children (ages 3-7) participate in weekly mini-projects suited to their developmental level, while older children take on longer-term projects culminating in final presentations.
Program Formats
- 1 Week Family Nature Adventure: A taster experience combining family time, alone time for parents, and kid-focused adventures. Requires a £500 deposit.
- Ocean Heroes Adventure: Three weeks focused on caring for mangroves, rivers, and oceans. Includes the Radiant Parenting program for parents.
- 6-Week Changemaker Adventure: Deep-dive into the Global Goals. Daily programming includes two meals, kangen water, and bus transport. Bursaries are available for families in need.
- Hive Hangout: A six-month seasonal community running each winter. Application-based.
- Nature Heroes Adventure (Colombia): Partnership with the Kogi tribe focused on terrestrial ecosystem restoration.
- Hive Practitioner Training: A five-day immersive training in self-regulation and co-regulation. Graduates can stay to volunteer for six weeks and emerge as a qualified Hive Practitioner.
- 18+ Changemaker Adventure: Up to six months of volunteering. Includes training, programming, and some meals. Accommodation is arranged separately.
- Weekend Family Connection Retreat: Features Reiki, sound healing, breathwork, meditation, and cacao ceremony.
