Boundless Life's Andalusia location is based in Estepona, a charming town on the Costa del Sol in Southern Spain. This is the biggest Boundless location, hosting 32 or more families per cohort. Estepona offers a beautiful old town with flower-lined streets, a long beachfront promenade with a bike path, playgrounds, and a relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle that families consistently describe as the easiest first-time-abroad destination in the network.

Worldschooling Programs & Hubs

Education Center (EC): Located right on the main promenade facing the beach. The interior space is small, but the location is unbeatable. Kids incorporate beach visits and playground time into their daily routine. Physical education takes place at local tennis courts. The EC director teaches Tai Chi, self-defense, and mindfulness as part of the program.

Community Hub: A smaller space in the Old Town. A new Family Lounge has been opened to expand capacity. Note: construction on the main promenade is ongoing and expected to continue until 2027, which may affect noise and access in the area.

ECAs (Extra-Curricular Activities): Flamenco, guitar, tennis, and musical theater — all culturally relevant to the Andalusian setting and well-received by families.

Practical Info (visas, internet, safety, neighborhoods)

  • Visas: Spain is in the Schengen Zone. Standard 90/180-day tourist visa rules apply for non-EU citizens.
  • Safety: Very safe. The only concern families note is petty bike theft — lock bikes securely and do not leave them out overnight. Otherwise, no safety concerns reported.
  • Neighborhoods & housing options:
  • Old Town: Charming narrow streets, close to Hub and restaurants. Downsides: apartments tend to be smaller, older/dated, and parking is scarce or nonexistent.
  • Marina/port area: Newer, bigger apartments, often with pool and gym access. Downside: uphill walk to the EC and Old Town.
  • Central modern apartments: A middle-ground option with newer finishes and reasonable access to both areas.
  • Humidity is not an issue in Estepona (unlike Sintra).
  • Language: Many locals do not speak English. Spanish is the dominant language. Spanish immersion is not built into the program but opportunities exist for families who actively seek them out.
